Vaughn was named NBA Coach of the Month for December.
Willie Green led the Pelicans to a 10-5 record in December.
During that stretch, the Pelicans are the only Western Conference team this month to rank in the top 10 both offensively (No. 10 in the league) and defensively (No. 6 in the league).
Green also became the fourth person in the history of the Pelicans to win the best coach of the month. The first three were Monty Williams, Bayern Scott and Paul Silas.
Vaughn took over as the Nets to a league-best 12-1 record in December.
The Nets’ current 12-game winning streak is the longest winning streak in the league this season, and it is also the third longest winning streak in team history.
Throughout December, the Nets ranked first in the league in a number of statistics, including points per game (119.7 points), field goal percentage (54.0%), three-point field goal percentage (42.2%), and effective field goal percentage.
