Paul George lost a valuable year of his career last season.
He missed three months with a right elbow injury and didn’t return until the play-offs.
But then he missed the key battle with the Pelicans because of triggering the health and safety agreement.
After an offseason of rehab, training and preparation, George offered his thoughts on the title race at media day before heading to training camp in Las Vegas.
George said he has great expectations for the Clippers’ new season.
“I’ll just say one thing: focus,” George said at the media day in September. “My window to win the championship is getting smaller and smaller. So focus is what I think is the most important thing in the new season. I want to take this
Start the season with an attitude.”
But more than half of the current season has progressed, and the performance of George and his teammates is far from meeting their expectations.
Once again, George expressed his sense of urgency in the interview.
“My thought is, the time to win a championship is now,” George said before the Clippers’ game against the Jazz on Thursday.
.From now on we have to have a sense of urgency. We have to play with a desperate attitude.”
